The price of physical gold tumbled nearly 5% on the week amid a resurgent U.S. Dollar and elevated yields. The yellow metal continues to be supported by a rising 200 SMA and key $2450 and $2300 support.
Gold rose around 13% in 2023 after a mostly flat return in 2022. It was down 3.5% in 2021.
We own physical gold as portfolio insurance.

Silver closed out 2023 with a small loss after rising around 2% in 2022. Silver lost 11.6% in 2021.
